A story about a small cliff in the Negev desert
A series of small events that took place during a single day, near a small cliff in the Negev desert.
It is amazing to see how the desert is actually full of life, when watched closely.
Morning on our little cliff, somewhere in the Negev. An entire world is hiding there, on the cliff.
After a short scan of the cliff, a nest of a Brown-necked Raven with one chick is revealed
...actually two
The female crow finally arrives for feeding the two chicks...actually three
The chicks are really impatient ...
one more second...
Mother Crow is in a hurry - quickly feeds three screaming throats
Everyone gets their share
Straight into the throat ...
And is immediately flying to find the next meal.
Maybe it was actually the male - it is impossible to differentiate between the sexes
If you search carefully, you can always find a Little Owl around
Towards evening a Steppe Buzzard arrives, to see what is happening in the cliff neighborhood
Examines thoroughly
Not far away, a Kestrel nest is hiding, even though a Rock Dove is the guardian
Not a moment passes, and the Buzzard is under attack. The Kestrel really does not like the unwanted guest
First attack - the Kestrel dives, the Buzzard spreads its wings
getting ready for the second assault
sharp dive and...
...no contact
A third attack from another angle, this might be more successful
and...a smack right on the wing!
The Buzzard is giving up and fleeing away within minutes
Rock Martins are flying over the cliff
One is standing with nesting material - some pigeon feathers.
The nest must be close by
